John met Paul last year at guilfest where Paul stated that "I am a better Bass Player than Bruce Foxton", John was impressed with the balls of this statement and because Mark has been looking for another Bassist to 'Gig Share' with, Paul is now Marks full time dep Bass Player. Pauls first gig will be at the Bagshot Lea Social Club on the 16th Feb. Good Luck

The New Line Up
Wellalive have come back this year bigger and better than 2006. After the addition of a new Keyboard player, Neil, in November 2006 an additional Guitarist (Toby) was found to add to the overall sound of the band and in doing so has created an awesome result. You really do need to come and see these boys soon and be prepared to be amased.

Move to the Dark Side
As those of you who have been to a gig lately will know, Winston (The Darkie) Eade is no longer performing Keyboard duties for Wellalive. Winston decided to move on to concentrate on other musical projects.

BAD LUCK
You would have thought after Marks accident back at the beginning of August, when he reduced the length of his Ring finger, that the Bad Luck would have been all used up. Well, you would be wrong. On the evening of Thursday 12th October, Marks van was broken into and his tools, trolley Jack and about 2 dozen CD's were stolen. Not only was mark gutted about the theft but the thieving gits crowbared the door off the poor van, which then needed to be repaired with the help of a donor door from a Ford Orion salvaged from a good old fashioned Car Salvage Yard. The insurance company were not much help either because the van was expected to be a write off and there were not any receipts to cover the items that were stolen. Because of this the insurer could not guarantee that they would be able to cover the items, as there was not any proof of the value of the stolen items. Altogether Mark is now out of pocket by more than a few hundred pounds. Thieving Gits

MARKS OUT OF NINE
As I'm sure you all know, Mark the Bass Player has been out of action since the beginning of August because he amputated the end of his Left Ring Finger in a Freak Fishing Accident. Well, Marks NINE digits were back on Saturday at a Private Function in Cardiff and what a difference it made to the boys performance, they were on fire. "For the first time in over a month we could really relax on stage" said John during the trip back to Aldershot. "Simon and Simon have done a great job for us as Stand-Ins but its very difficult to replace someone who knows the songs inside out"

SPORTING ACCIDENT AMPUTATES THE TOP OF MARKS FINGER
At approximately 1:30 on Saturday 5th August on the banks of Southampton Water opposite Southampton Container Port, Wellalive Bass Player, Mark, amputated the tip of his Ring Finger during what was supposed to be a relaxing fishing trip with Phil. Marks was adjusting a reclining chair when it collapsed under him and squashed his finger in the hinge. Mark, his Family and Wellalive would like to thank everyone who helped him that weekend especially: Phil (Wellalive's Drummer) and his girlfriend Jo. The Marvelous Lady who sped Mark to Southampton Hospital. The Wonderful Doctor and Nurses at Southampton Accident & Emergency. and last but not least The Fantastic Plastic Surgon, Doctors and Nurses at Salisbury Hospital where Marks finger was operated on at 12:00 Sunday 6th August.

WOW 5000 WOW
That is the estimate from Portsmouth City Council as to how many people attended the Southsea Bandstand gig on Sunday 16th July. In blistering 30 degree sunshine. 5000 fans, old and a lot of new faces enjoyed two bands, Wellalive and 2 Tonic. This is one of the biggest ever crowds at the bandstand, even more than Bob Geldof in 1999. Wellalive stepped in to open the show after the two other booked bands pulled out at short notice. Wellalive played a blinding set which was then followed by a blistering 2hour 15minute set from 2 Tonic. This is the biggest audience that Wellalive and 2 Tonic have played to yet and the highlight of the day, appart from being entertained by two fantastic bands, had to be 5000 people waving at the HMS frigate as she cruised in and Portsmouth's biggest ever Mexican wave, The idea of the Wellalive Keyboardist (Winston), but executed superbly by the Lead Singer From 2 Tonic (Ralph). If you were there, a big thank you to you and also thanks to Heather from Portsmouth City Council and their staff and of course to the fantastic 2 Tonic. Follows this link to their site - 2Tonic We have already found some photo's curtosy of Steve Spurgin Digital Photography. Thanks Steve follow this link and you will find picture of Wellalive at the top and pctures of 2 Tonic further down.
