"Charismatic singer Johnny had Paul Weller's vocal nuances down to a tee, especially when ripping through a pre-interval set of Jam classics before moving on to his Style Council and solo material."
Harlow Star 2009

John's vocals have received high praise indeed, in the words of Bad Manners' Buster Bloodvessel: "blimey, shut your eyes and you'd think you were hearing Paul Weller himself sing."
Peterborough Telegraph 2008

"Awesome. I closed my eyes and I was back there in 1979 at a sweaty Jam gig"
Maidenhead Advertiser 2006

I have just heard the shocking news about John Weller, who passed away this morning. I am sure that without him Paul would never have been as successful as he is. I would like to send heart felt condolences to the Weller family on their very sad loss.

Here I am them, the new boy! I set myself a high benchmark by saying what I said to John at Guilfest, but I only said what I know! Joking Bruce. Your bass lines are the finest ever. That's why I love playing them so much. Looking forward to Saturday. I feel part of the gang now. Can I add a special thanks to Moggy for the lifts home from rehearsals. That'll do for now. See you all Saturday.

Gigging in Southend this weekend. Not long now. We are leaving straight after work. Im driving to Aldershot and then jumping into the 'Band Bus' with everyone else. I didnt want to chance driving my van to Southend because it probably wouldnt make it back again. I think we are all very excited about going back to the Riga Bar as the sound is great. Not sure about the other venue though as we have never been there before. I am a bit worried that everyone will come along to todays gig and not bother with tommorows, with anyluck they will be at opposite ends of Southend (If thats possible, HOW BIG IS SOUTHEND??)
